Research shows that many of the most pervasive gender biases in our culture are rooted in the stories we tell, and don't tell.
Girls grow up wanting to be princesses and not scientists, because of the stories they hear. Promotions and salary raises go to men more often then women because of the collective narratives around gender and work. To make things worse, women are less likely than men to tell their own stories. It's time for a change.
You have a story to tell and the world needs to hear it. Writing on Fe-mind is your opportunity to explore your own perspective and share your voice with the world.
Fe-mind is the place for women to speak about the way they experience the world, what it means to be a woman today, and what experiences and people have affected their journey.
Reflections: Look back and write about something you have experienced.
Share a story about a lesson that impacted the course of your life, an experience you went through that changed your outlook, a story that might inspire another woman to realize she isn’t alone in her experience.
Responses: Make your voice heard and share your reaction to something in the world, in your environment, in the news, or even here on Fe-mind.
Share your opinion on an issue that is important to you, a reaction to a book or new piece of research, or respond to something that you experienced and share your unique perspective.
Proposals: Share your perspective on how something could be done another way.
Share your solution to a problem you see or have experienced. How would you challenge or question the status quo approach? Women have everything they need to get things done. It's time for the world to listen.
Beyond these core categories we look for interviews or profiles of women leaders and disruptors, and for original reporting investigating an issue affecting women.
